Cowgirl from Ontario
I was born and raised on a farm…and it’s probably one of the things in my life I’m most thanful for! Roaming our 100 acre farm that was split in half by a river, and 20 acres of bush gave me and my siblings more than enough to do in a day.
We were also lucky enough to have horses. From breeding, foaling, raising, training, showing and selling, we experienced it all. My early years with the horses have given me a foundation on which I have built the last 27 years of my life.
After graduating from four years at the amazing University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science majoring in animal nutrition, I found a job with a local feed company as part of their equine nutrition team. The learning curve was steep, but I loved every minute of it. The many things I learned in that job have made me the nutritionist I am today. Even though I have moved on, I will credit them with giving me the majority of my knowledge for horse nutrition, or at least the ability to figure out what I need to know!
Since then, I have married an amazing man who is my biggest support and whom I could not live without. We now have 2 amazing boys, and five horses. No farm yet, we just board them out….it’s in the 5 year plan though. I am currently working with another larger feed company as their Equine Nutritionist, and hope to stay with them for many years to come!
